How to get started
It's easy to get started using TypePad AntiSpam: just download the plugin for Movable Type or WordPress and configure it with a free API key. Every time you report spam, TypePad AntiSpam gets better at protecting your blog from spam.
Movable Type users
The easiest way to get TypePad AntiSpam is to get Movable Type 4.2, which includes the TypePad AntiSpam plugin. If you're still on an older version, the free Movable Type plugin is compatible with Movable Type versions 3.3 and greater, and Movable Type Enterprise version 1.5.
- Download the TypePad AntiSpam Beta plugin for Movable Type
- Unzip the archive and install the plugin by uploading the folder to the /plugins directory of your Movable Type installation
- Get an API key. It's free and all you'll need is a TypePad profile.
- Go to
Tools > Pluginsin the System Overview of your Movable Type installation. Edit your plugin settings to enter your API key
- Report Spam!
WordPress users
The WordPress plugin is compatible with WordPress versions 2.3, 2.5 and 2.7.
- Download the TypePad AntiSpam Beta plugin for WordPress
- Unzip the archive and install the plugin by uploading the plugin file to the the plugins directory inside wp-content of your WordPress installation
- Get an API key. It's free and all you'll need is a TypePad profile account.
- Edit your plugin settings to use your API key
- Report Spam!
TypePad members
TypePad AntiSpam is already included with your service. Help us make TypePad AntiSpam better by reporting spam that gets through to your blog by clicking on the "Report Spam" button in the List Comments screen.
